The Young Artists Competition is open to all aspiring professional performers and all instrumentalists under age 19. The 2021 Young Artists Competition audition will be held in two ways: Live audition and YouTube link submission. The live audition will be recorded on the site by us, and if the contestant has been selected as a winner, his or her audition video will be used for the virtual winner concert. For the YouTube audition contestant, his or her video will be used for the winner’s concert if selected. Please note that once you select the way of the audition, the change is not allowed. The audition repertoire should include one original composition. The piece must be performed from memory and the time limit is 10 minutes. For all the auditions, proper concert dress attire is required. NO dresses shorter than knee level, and no jeans, sneakers, tennis shoes, flip flops, open-toe shoes, shorts, tank tops, or t-shirts.

Live Audition:
Application Deadline: Wednesday, November 10th, 2021.
Application Fee(non-refundable): $150(Solo), $100(Per person for Ensemble).
Audition Date: Saturday, December 4th, 2021.
Location: First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon, 2 Lee’s Hill Road, New Vernon, NJ 07976.

YouTube Audition:
Application Deadline: Wednesday, November 10th, 2021.
Application Fee(non-refundable): $120(Solo), $80(Per person for Ensemble).
YouTube link submission Due Date: Saturday, December 4th, 2021.

How to enter:

  1. Go to the online registration form.
  2. Fill out the form and pay the registration fee online to complete registration.
  3. You will receive a confirmation email with your registration ID and payment receipt after you successfully complete your registration.
  4. For YouTube audition, email your YouTube link and music to before December 4th, 2021.

The Youtube video rules:

  • The video must be one-take without editing.
  • The video must be shot and viewed in landscape mode.
  • No speaking in the video.
  • Please do not include the warm-up in the video.
  • To ensure quality and consistency of the videos among entrants, set up the camera from the audience’s perspective, limit background noise, and make sure the performance space is well lit.
  • The video should show the student’s arms, hands, back, and feet.
  • Students are encouraged to wear nice clothes as though they were performing at the in-person contest, although there is no specific dress code.
  • You may use previously recorded instances of the piece (e.g., from a recent recital). The video must be recorded after May 2021. Proper dress attire is also required in the recording.

The winner names will be announced on the IMPACT website after the audition. All Gold and Silver winners will receive certificates in the mail. Their performance videos will be posted on the IMPACT website.
